HAIM is an American alternative band based in Los Angeles, California. The band is composed of three sisters, Este, Danielle, and Alana Haim. Este is the bassist. Danielle lead vocalist, guitarist, and drummer. Alana guitarist and pianist. The three sisters grew up in San Fernando Valley, California in a musical family where they began to play instruments at a young age. In 2006, the sisters officially formed HAIM.
HAIM’s first EP was released in October 2012. The EP included “Better Off,” “Forever,” and “Go Slow.” Shortly after the release of their first EP, Forever, the band signed with Polydoor Records.
Days Are Gone (2013)
On September 27, 2013, HAIM released their first studio album, Days Are Gone. The album includes “Falling,” “Forever,” “The Wire,” “If I Could Change Your Mind,” “Honey & I,” “Don’t Save Me,” “Days Are Gone,” “My Song 5,” “Go Slow,” “Let Me Go,” and “Running If You Call My Name.”
Days Are Gone made the top ten albums chart in multiple countries including the number one album in the United Kingdom. Following the success of their first studio album, HAIM was nominated for Best New Artist at the 57th Grammy Awards.
Something To Tell You (2017)
The band released their second studio album, Something To Tell You, on July 7, 2017. Something To Tell You has tracks including “Want You Back,” “Nothing’s Wrong,” “Little of Your Life,” “Ready For You,” “Something To Tell You,” “You Never Knew,” “Kept Me Crying,” “Found It In Silence,” “Walking Away,” “Right Now,” and “Night So Long.”
Women In Music Pt. III (2020)
On June 26, 2020, HAIM released their third studio album, Women In Music Pt. III. The album includes “Los Angeles,” “The Steps,” “I Know Alone,” “Up from a Dream,” “Gasoline,” “3 AM,” “Don’t Wanna,” “Another Try,” “Leaning on You,” “I’ve Been Down,” “Man from the Magazine,” “All That Ever Mattered,” and “FUBT.”
Women In Music Pt. III was nominated for Album of the Year and “The Steps” was nominated for Best Rock Performance at the 63rd Grammy Awards.
HAIM’s most recent releases include 2 singles, “Everybody’s trying to figure me out” and “Relationships.” “Relationships” was released on March 12, 2025, while “Everybody’s trying to figure me out” was released on April 4, 2025.
Over the years, HAIM has continued to evolve their sound and as songwriters. They experimented with sounds of classic alternative, rock, modern alternative, and creating their own unique sound. As HAIM continues to evolve as musicians, they continue to connect with their fans and new listeners through their relatable lyrics. HAIM’s new singles have left fans guessing when their next album will be announced.
