A drummer of a band that disassembled due to a tragedy formed a one-man band. Dave Grohl came up with a band name due to his fascination with UFOs. He decided on the name Foo Fighters. He sent off his first demo and it did a lot better than he thought. As the music industry grew an interest in his music, he assembled a band to play all the instruments. As he assembled his band, Grohl licensed the album to Capitol Records. The Foo Fighters have now released nine albums since 1994.
