As we near the end of Summer 2024, letβs recap and discuss some of the most influential alternative albums released. LOOM- Imagine Dragons
LOOM, Imagine Dragonβs sixth studio album, was released under Interscope Records on June 28 kicking off the summer album release season. Big Ideas- Remi Wolf
Big Ideas was released under Island Records on July 12 marking Remi Wolfβs second studio album release. The album has 13 tracks: βCinderella,β βSoup,β βMotorcycle,β βToro,β βAlone in Miami,β βCherries & Cream,β βKangaroo,β βPitiful,β βWave,β βWhen I Thought Of You,β βFrog Rock,β βJust the Start,β and a bonus track. Wolf highlights more sophisticated songwriting while still leaning into the occasional funny line through indie, disco, electro, and jazz sounds.
Charm- Clairo
Clairoβs third studio album, Charm, was released on July 12 under Virgin Music Group. Charm has 11 tracks: βNomad,β βSexy to Someone,β βSecond Nature,β βSlow Dance,β βThank You,β βTerrapin,β βJuna,β βAdd Up My Love,β βEcho,β βGlory of the Snow,β and βPier 4.β The album explores the theme of being charmed by someone, similarly to the same feelings of having a crush while simultaneously exploring new sounds different from her previous albums.
No Name- Jack White
On August 2, Jack White released his sixth studio album, No Name, under his own Third Man Records. Aghori Mhori Mei- The Smashing Pumpkins
The Smashing Pumpkins released their studio album, Aghori Mhori Mei, on August 2 under Marthaβs Music. The album has 10 tracks: βEdin,β βPentagrams,β βSighommi,β βPentecost,β βWar Dreams Of Itself,β βWho Goes There,β β999,β βGoeth The Fall, βSicarus,β and βMurnau.β The album leans into a dark sound with haunting melodies and gothic rock.
This Is How Tomorrow Moves- beabadoobee
beabadoobee released her third studio album, this is how tomorrow moves, under Dirty Hit on August 9.
