Peach Pit
Peach Pit is an indie-rock band from Vancouver, Canada who describe their sound as βchewed bubblegum popβ whereas critics describe their sound as sad pop combined with surf rock. The band includes Neil Smith, leader singer and rhythm guitarist, Christopher Vanderkooy, lead guitarist, Peter Wilton, bassist, and Mikey Pascuzzi, drummer. The band formed when high school friends, Smith and Vanderkooy, decided to collaborate on a project in 2014. Wilton and Pascuzzi joined shortly after. In 2016, the band released its debut EP, Sweet FA.
Their video for the song, βPeach Pit,β from their 2016 debut EP, Sweet Fa, has more than 25 million views. βAlrighty Aphroditeβ spent 15 weeks on Billboardβs Canada Rock chart, peaking at number 37. Alternative Press included Peach Pit on its list of the Top 10 Modern Bands Keeping Surf Rock Alive and Well in 2019.
