Doolittle and Beyond: Exploring the Pixies

Francis and Santiago formed a band in January 1986 in Boston, Massachusetts. A few weeks later, Francis put out an ad looking for a bass player. Deal was the only person who responded to the ad. Deal had no bass and had never played the instrument before. Lovering was suggested by Deal’s sister. Deal’s sister had met Lovering at her wedding reception.

Over time, members of the band stepped out while new members stepped in. Former members include Deal and Paz Lenchantin. Current members include Francis, Lovering, Santiago, and Emma Richardson.

Come On Pilgrim

On September 28, 1987, the band released their first studio album, Come On Pilgrim, under 4AD Ltd. The album has 8 songs total: “Caribou,” “Vamos (pilgrim),” “Isla de Encanta,” “Ed Is Dead,” “The Holiday Song,” “Nimrod’s Son,” “I’ve Been Tired,” and “Levitate Me.”
