Del Water Gap, Samuel Holden Jaffe, is an alternative musician and producer that is based in Brooklyn New York. His stage name is inspired by Delaware Water Gap. Del Water Gap is inspired by “romantic encounters and dimly lit rooms.”
Del Water Gap is from Sharon, Connecticut. He attended boarding school in Millbrook, New York and recorded his early projects there. After attending boarding school, he went to study at the Clive Davis Institute of Recorded Music at New York University (NYU) to study music and sound production. While at NYU, he met Maggie Rogers who played in the first group of band members for Del Water Gap. Del Water Gap became a solo project after two previous band members decided to leave the band.
In 2013, Del Water Gap released his first EP, Del Water Gap EP.
Following the release of Del Water Gap EP, he released his second EP on October 11, 2018, 1 (646) 943 2672. The EP includes “Vanessa,” “Let’s Pretend,” “Deirdre, Pt. 1,” “High Tops,” “Don’t Read the Mirror,” and “Love Song for Lady Earth.”
On April 12, 2019, Del Water Gap released his third EP, Don’t Get Dark. The EP includes “Don’t Say Nothing,” “Theory of Emotion,” “Chastain,” “To Philly,” “Laid Down My Arms,” and “Don’t Leave Me.”
Del Water Gap released his first studio album, Del Water Gap, on October 8, 2021. The album includes “Better Than I Know Myself,” “Sorry I Am,” “Perfume,” “Hurting Kind,” “Alone Together,” “Ode to a Conversations Stuck in Your Throat,” “Distance,” “It’s Not Fair !,” “I Hope You Understand,” “Bug Bites,” “Uh – Huh,” and “Shortest Love Song.”
On September 29, 2023, he released his second studio album, I Miss You Already + I Haven’t Left Yet. I Miss You Already + I Haven’t Left Yet includes “All We Ever Do Is Talk,” “Losing You,” “Quilt of Steam,” “NFU,” “Doll House,” “Gemini,” “Coping on Unemployment,” “Beach House,” “Glitter & Honey,” “Want It All,” “Gone In Seconds,” and “We Will Never Be Like Anybody Else.”
Del Water Gap is currently on the “I Miss You Already + I Haven’t Left Yet On Tour” for the UK and Europe.
