The Marías is an American indie pop band from Los Angeles, California. Group members Maria Zardoya, Joshua David Conway, Jessee Perlman, and Edward James formed the band in 2016 after Zardoya met Conway after a performance. After the two met, they began writing songs and recruiting their close friends Perlman and James. Zardoya is the lead vocalist, Conway is the drummer, Perlman is the lead guitarist, and James is the keyboardist. The band is known for performing songs in English and Spanish. The group released two EPs before releasing their first studio album.
