Looking Through the Glass: Glass Animals

Glass Animals is an indie rock band formed in Oxford, England in 2010. The band members are Dave Bayley (lead vocalist, guitar, keys, and drums), Drew MacFarland (guitar and keys), Edmun Irwin-Singer (bass, keys), and Joe Seaward (drums). Glass Animals band members met at St. Edward’s School which is in Oxford, England. The band began playing together officially in 2010.

Glass Animals released their first EP in 2012, Leaflings, and their second EP in 2013, Black Mambo / Exxus.

ZABA (2014)

On June 5, 2014, the band released their first studio album, ZABA. The album includes β€œFlip,” β€œBlack Mambo,” β€œPools,” β€œGooey,” β€œWalla Walla,” β€œIntruxx,” β€œHazey,” β€œToes,” β€œWyrd,” β€œCocoa Hooves,” and β€œJdnt.”

Remixes (2015)

Glass Animals released remix versions of songs they had previously released on February 24, 2015. The remixes included β€œGooey (Gilligan Moss Remix),” β€œHazey (feat. Rome Fortune) [Dave Glass Animals Rework],” β€œPools (Roosevelt Remix),” β€œBlack Mambo (Zodiac Remix),” β€œGooey Rework (feat. Chester Watson),” β€œHazey (Gabriel GarzΓ³n-Montano Remix),” β€œExxus (Pattern Remix),” β€œPools (Kwes. How to Be a Human (2016)

On August 26, 2016, the band released their second studio album, How to Be a Human. How to Be a Human includes the tracks β€œLife Itself,” β€œYouth,” β€œSeason 2 Episode 3,” β€œPork Soda,” β€œMama’s Gun,” β€œCane Shuga,” β€œ[Premade Sandwiches],” β€œThe Other Side of Paradise,” β€œTake a Slice,” β€œPoplar St.,” and β€œAgnes.”

Dreamland (2020)

After touring for How to Be Human, Glass Animals released their third studio album, Dreamland, on August 7, 2020. Dreamland includes β€œDreamland,” β€œTangerine,” β€œ((home

Glass Animals have made their mark in the alternative music genre with their unique approach to blending different genres and sounds with rich storytelling. From ZABA to I Love You So F***ing Much, it’s clear that the band will continue to push boundaries and evolve as artists proving that the band with remain a force to be reckoned with and continuing to capture new listeners.
